ENGINE RACE

Red Chief power off to a fast start to 2007 with ten days at the Collins Stewart London Boatshow at Excel in the Docklands. The brief was to host and run the Engine Race for the duration of the show, keeping the audience and race participants entertained with seven shows a day.

This unique feature was designed to be presenter led and fully interactive for the audience and guests. Red Chief recruited teams to take part in advance of every show for smooth running, enticing them with gaining hands on experience of an emergency break down at sea.

Help was at hand from start to finish with expert training supplied by the feature sponsor, so the new apprentices were in safe hands as they initially watched the procedure before being timed in the race off. With four teams racing head to head in each heat, the stop clock was set and running for each team as they attempted to beat the show time, aiming to gain the coveted top position for the overall event.
